Trout in Classroom Release
EDTU Youth Education Director Mike Jacobs has done it again. For the 5th year in a row he has partnered with a local school to raise hundreds of beautiful Rainbow Trout.
This years "Trout in the Classroom" program started last November when Mike delivered the eggs to Saint Margaret Mary School. Retired school teacher Jim Tingey and Wilmette Pet Shop owner Dave Cozzolino joined in on the project and raised the healthiest looking bunch yet. We are quite proud of this years family. Check out the Tank-Cam.
It all comes to an end Friday April 20th at 11am. The students, the trout and EDTU volunteers will be at Loyola Park (Touhy and Sheridan) to release the fish into Lake Michigan. Please join us to see the children's smiles, maybe some tears and sing along to a variation of the Everly Brothers hit "Bye Bye Trout."
