Northern Illinois Fly Tyers (NIFT) has arranged a seminar with Montana Outfitter and Guide Dave Blackburn on Monday, October 15, 2012.

Dave Blackburn’s Kootenai Angler is a full service outfitter/guide/lodging operation located near Libby, Montana. Dave’s been guiding on the Kootenai River and its tributaries for 30 years as well as providing comfortable accommodations for his guests. He’s got lots of fishing experience and knowledge to share with us. Here is the link to his website: http://www.montana-flyfishing.com

Dave will demonstrate and guide participants in tying some of his most successful Kootenai River patterns. NIFT will provide tying materials. Participants need to bring their tying tools and equipment. He’ll also tell us about the trout fishing opportunities in his part of Northwest Montana.

This event will start at 12:00 (noontime) on Monday, October 15th and run until 5:00 P.M.

After the seminar you are invited to join Dave for the dinner (at your expense).

The presentation/lessons will take place at Cabela’s in Hoffman Estates. The meeting room is on the second floor of their retail store. Ask one of their greeters for directions to the room.

Cost for the daytime program is $30 per person (cash or check).

If you want to attend the daytime presentation and fly tying lessons send Dick Dragiewicz (obiobiobi@ameritech.net) an email confirming that you’ll be there. Need to have your reservation prior to October 11, 2012.

Attendance will be limited to the first twenty (20) people that sign up.

In the evening, Dave will attend our regular NIFT meeting and give a presentation on Trout Fishing on the Kootenai River.

The NIFT meeting begins at 7:30 P.M. at the Schaumburg Township Hall.
